Have yourself a Happy Hygge New Year!

Who remembers the hygge (pronounced hyoo-guh) lifestyle that was all the rage a few winters ago? How we all sought refuge in our homes, embracing the warm glows of winter lights against the cold dark sky? How we yearned for time to slow down, catch up on our reading, embraced our down comforters and warm knit blankets? Sought recipes for honey, lemon ginger tea? Why aren’t we embracing this now?

Why are we complaining that we’re stuck at home, when it’s actually a privilege, a gift?

We can’t get to the movies, but we can stream them. We can’t eat in restaurants but we can eat outside at restaurants or participate in curbside pickup. We can still get outside and get that fresh air. We can still participate in winter sports like downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and ice skating. Don’t know how, why not learn this winter? Hate the cold? Take advantage of all the downloadable apps for every fitness type under the sun from pilates and barre to spinning to weight training.

Perhaps learn a new indoor skill - one that you wanted to last year but never got around to such as knitting, needlepoint, painting, cooking and a host of others.

I am absolutely loving Master Class - Listen to industry greats give tips, advice and anecdotes as they share their paths to success. I have loved listening to Sara Blakely, Daniel Pink, Margaret Atwood and Gordon Ramsay to name a few. They’re having a great BOGO promotion.

What’s that one thing you’ve always wanted to do?
What’s stopping you now?
Let 2021 be the year you do it!
